AC Shadows Reveals Surprising AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that defies traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Revealed
According to the official release, "An unusual meeting draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where hints of prohibited practices and monstrous transformations resonate through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden cult.
The questline concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Metamorphoses
The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an unique katana together with numerous artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive implements
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Content
This release also introduces the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with famous anime franchises. The series formerly included a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla informally included a quest that obviously echoed the famous series One-Punch Man.
